It is my honor to welcome you to our sixth annual Many Families One Community Family Resource Fair. Sulphur Springs Union School District is honored to be partnering with William S. Hart Union High School District to bring this wonderful event to our families. Both Districts support the importance of making sure that our families are provided resources to further assist them with enhancing their child’s learning, both academically and socially. We are committed to ensuring that your child has an opportunity to be successful so that they can achieve their fullest potential.
Sulphur Springs and William S. Hart Union High School Districts both want to thank the community partners that have worked to bring this wonderful event to our families. We look forward to sharing a wealth of resources, and we hope that you will enjoy the virtual Family Resource Fair.
We appreciate the dedication and hard work that the Sulphur Springs Union School District's Student and Family Wellness Collaborative have done to prepare for this virtual Family Resource Fair. I want to also express my appreciation to our staff in both school Districts, and our community partners in the Santa Clarita Valley that have come to share their valuable information to further strengthen the bond between our homes and schools.

Es un honor para mí darles la bienvenida a nuestra sexta Feria Anual de Recursos para Familias, Muchas Familias Una Comunidad. El Distrito Escolar de Sulphur Springs Union se honra de poder colaborar con el Distrito Escolar de Preparatorias William S. Hart Union para ofrecer este maravilloso evento a nuestras familias. Ambos distritos escolares apoyan la importancia de asegurarse de que nuestras familias reciban recursos para ayudaros a mejorar el aprendizaje de sus niños, tanto académica como socialmente. On behalf of the Hart District Governing Board, I’d like to welcome everyone to the Many Families One Community Family Resource Virtual Fair. I’m thrilled that we can continue this wonderful community tradition – even in the midst of the challenges presented to us by the COVID pandemic. In many ways, the pandemic highlights the essential need for our community to share critical resources and support during this time of exceptional need.
Through this Virtual Fair, we hope to connect our families with community resources available through the school districts, the City of Santa Clarita, the College of the Canyons, community agencies, and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department.
I’d like to share a special thanks to Dr. Kawaguchi, whose vision and drive has made this ambitious idea a positive reality. Along with our partners in the Sulphur Springs Union School District, I appreciate all the hard work of our planning administrators, including Golden Valley Principal Mr. Sal Frias, Canyon High School Principal Shellie Holcombe, La Mesa Principal Michele Krantz and Sierra Vista Principal Marcus Garrett.
We are indeed many families – and yet ONE COMMUNITY in the Santa Clarita Valley. We hope that the connections you make at this virtual fair will support and enrich your family in the days ahead.

A nombre de la Mesa Directiva del Distrito de Hart, me gustaría darles la bienvenida a todos a la Feria Virtual de Recursos para Familias de Muchas Familias, Una Comunidad. Estoy entusiasmado de que podamos continuar con esta maravillosa tradición comunitaria, incluso en medio de los desafíos que nos presenta la pandemia del COVID. En muchas maneras, la pandemia destaca la necesidad esencial de nuestra comunidad para compartir recursos y apoyo críticos durante este tiempo de necesidad excepcional.
A través de esta feria virtual, esperamos poder conectar a nuestras familias con los recursos comunitarios disponibles a través de los distritos escolares, la Ciudad de Santa Clarita, el Colegio de los Cañones, las agencias comunitarias y el Departamento del Sheriff del Valle de Santa Clarita.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Sulphur Springs Union School District I am delighted to welcome you to the sixth annual “Many Families, One Community” Family Resource Fair. This fair continues to be one of the most visible and valuable examples of the strong relationship between the Sulphur Springs and William S. Hart School Districts and I would like to recognize our continued associations with the Hart Board through this wonderful event.
Over the past couple of years, we have learned much about ourselves and the relationships we value. It seems that many of us found out very suddenly how much we depend on our social relationships in the community when our access to those relationships was suddenly taken away. As we have navigated unfamiliar and challenging situations and have tried to identify what “the new normal” is, we have found a moving target where we often want stability and consistency. But our community is both strong, and resilient. This fair continues to be not only the realization of a vision but a reminder of how strong we are. Our great community is one that has so many things to offer to families and individuals, but sometimes those who need resources the most, may not know what is available, or how to take advantage of them. We are glad you are with us today. As you attend workshops and as you visit with representatives of many community service organizations, we hope that you will ask yourself “Who do I know that might benefit from this?” And then, follow through. You are with us today, but you probably have dozens or even hundreds of friends and neighbors who are not. These services are available for everyone in our community. Please help spread the word to someone who may have found needs that they have never had or recognized before.
We are so grateful to the many organizations that have responded to invitations to associate with us in an ongoing effort to bring a broad variety of resources to one place where community members can discover them and make connections.
We would also like to recognize the efforts of those who have prepared workshops today.
Finally, I would like to thank the Superintendents and administrators of both our District and the William S. Hart Union High School District for their continued efforts to keep the vision alive, for being sensitive to the needs of our families, for their desire to strengthen our community and for making this great event happen.

A nombre de la Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Sulphur Springs Union, estoy complacido poder darles la bienvenida a la sexta Feria Anual de Recursos para Familias, "Muchas Familias Una Comunidad." Esta feria continúa siendo uno de los ejemplos más visibles y valiosos de la sólida relación entre los distritos escolares de Sulphur Springs y William S. Hart, y deseo reconocer nuestras asociaciones continuas con la Junta Directiva de Hart a través de este maravilloso evento.
Durante los últimos dos años, hemos aprendido mucho sobre nosotros mismos y la relaciones que valoramos. Parece que muchos de nosotros descubrimos de repente cuanto dependemos de nuestras relaciones sociales en la comunidad cuando nuestro acceso a esas relaciones lo perdimos repentinamente. Conforme navegamos por situaciones desconocidas, desafiantes y hemos intentado identificar qué es "la nueva normalidad," hemos encontrado un objetivo en movimiento en el que a menudo deseamos estabilidad y consistencia. Nuestra gran comunidad es una que tiene tantas cosas que ofrecer a familias y a individuos, pero en ocasiones aquellos que más necesitan los recursos, pueden desconocer lo que está disponible, o cómo aprovecharlos. Nos alegra que hoy nos acompañen. Conforme participen en los talleres y cuando visiten a representantes de muchas organizaciones que sirven a nuestra comunidad, esperamos que se lleguen a preguntar: "¿A quién conozco que podría beneficiarse de esto?" y después, darle seguimiento. Ustedes están aquí hoy, pero probablemente tengan a docenas o incluso a cientos de amigos y vecinos que no lo están. Estos servicios están disponibles para todos en nuestra comunidad. Por favor, ayuden a correr la voz a alguien que pudiera estar necesitado, que quizá jamás había tenido esa necesidad o que la haya reconocido.
Estamos muy agradecidos con las tantas organizaciones que han respondido a las invitaciones para colaborar con nosotros en un esfuerzo continuo por traer una amplia variedad de recursos a un lugar donde los miembros de la comunidad los pueden descubrir y hacer conexiones. I’d like to welcome you to the “Many Families, One Community” Family Resource Fair. The William S. Hart Union High School Governing Board is happy to see that our teams and our family members from Golden Valley and Canyon High Schools - and from La Mesa and Sierra Vista Junior High Schools – are working together with the Sulphur Springs School District to make this event possible. The “Many Families – One Community” resource fair helps to identify community needs and reaches out to community members to make sure everyone knows that these resources are available. From academic assistance to physical and mental health supports, we encourage you to come out and take advantage of these amazing resources.
I’d like to personally thank Dr. Catherine Kawaguchi from Sulphur Unified School District – and the many groups and businesses from Santa Clarita who work so hard to support our youth and families during these trying times.
