Curriculum
Please read to your child often, even if your child is reading or beginning to read. They need to hear you read, as well as read to you.
The more we read the better readers we become.
Kindergarten
We will work with the same letters and sight words the children have been working with in their ELA class. I am going to be about a week behind the current Kindergarten work.

First Grade
We will continue to practice short vowel sounds (a, e, o, i, u). We will use the short vowel sounds to blend and read cvc words (consonant, vowel, consonant) and ccvc (consonant, consonant, vowel, consonant )words. We are reviewing the Kindergarten sight words and are working on the First Grade sight words. Please review these words often with your child.

Second Grade
We will continue to review short and long vowel words. We will be using short and long vowel word parts/patterns to help us read words. We are also working on identifying l blends (bl, cl, gl, fl, pl, sl) at the beginning of words. We are reviewing sight words from First Grade and have started on Second Grade High Frequency Words
