Issue 7: April 2026
April 3-12: Spring Break
April 21-22: Reading OST Test
April 28-April 29: Math OST Test
I hope everyone had a great Spring Break. I know the weather wasn't very spring-like, but it was nice to have some time off.
As you can see on our Upcoming Events section, next week we start our Ohio State Testing! We begin with Reading next week, followed by math the following week. We have worked so hard all year to make sure we are prepared for this, so I know our students will do great.
A few things you can do to make sure they have a successful testing day:
Get a good night's sleep! Did you know that an 8 or 9 year old needs 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night? It helps that growing brain of theirs!
Eat a good, protein-filled breakfast. Think eggs, cheese, yogurt. These foods will fill their bellies and help their brains.
Dress comfortably. We are sitting for a while, so comfortable clothes are the way to go.
Be on time! Feeling rushed is the worst, and I want them to have time to settle in, relax, and get prepared before we start.
Remind them they are awesome, encourage them to do their best, and to take deep breaths. They have learned so much this year and I'm so proud of them. I can't wait to see how they do!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out anytime. The best ways to contact me are through the Remind App or email me at kblakeslee@sheffieldschools.org.
