Attendance is taken every day for both morning and afternoon meetings.
Students are allowed two absences (excused or unexcused) for an entire session. Students will be dropped from the class after the second absence.
Missing a half day will still count as a full day absence as it is the same class with only a lunch break (in-person instruction).
Being tardy to class is defined as not being in the assigned classroom when the bell rings.
6 tardies to either morning or afternoon meetings will have a student be dropped from the course.
Arriving after 8:45 am (morning sessions) or 11:45 am (afternoon Edgenuity session only), students will be considered as absent UNLESS a parent/guardian has contacted the summer school office ahead of time and a note provided. The student will be marked as tardy instead.
If a student needs to leave their meeting early for the day for an appointment:
a signed note from a parent/guardian must be turned in by the student before 8:30am, and an excusal pass will be available at break or lunch (depending on when student needs to be released) for the student to pick up.
If a parent/guardian does not notify the summer school staff before the school day begins, the parent/guardian will need to sign out their student in the Summer School Office, room
H-101, in person. Anticipate delays in picking up your student as they will be packing up their things and walk to the office to meet you.
If a student needs to call home because they are not feeling well or are injured, students will need to use the Summer School office phone to make official contact.
