We are a team of editors who work on our biweekly paper that is posted on our Google Classroom. All the resources and everything that we need as editors will be posted there as well. Biweekly papers have a hard deadline on Sunday, 11:59 P.M. before the next day, Monday, which is when it will be sent out to be posted. All editors can work on their desired articles but are required to contribute articles that directly relate to school news. For example, all of our editors write articles about school events, but can also write another article about fashion, music culture, or any other article about topics that indirectly impact school life and culture. Everyone is required to complete one full article per biweekly newspaper.
Upon joining the club, club members have a free choice, and can write about anything school-related that has happened in the specified time frame of the newspaper. This includes recent events, achievements, sports-related advancements, etc. If other editors have not written about a certain school-related article yet, feel free to write about it. However, please note that you may be assigned a certain topic/article to write about by the editor-in-chief if there is not enough coverage on certain areas of school life and culture.
We do not have any set roles for everyone. Members are automatically assigned a role as an editor. As an editor, your role in this club is to do research on your desired or specified topic/article, write it out on the Google Slides assignment (found on Google Classroom), and make it look visually appealing. It may seem like a grueling task, but our team offers unwavering assistance.
Usually, we are lenient and understanding of editors who may have other priorities going on in their lives, whether it is being ill, being on vacation, having an increased workload, etc. If you can't complete an article for a newspaper, do not wait until the last minute to let an editor-in-chief know. We highly recommend you complete your due articles to the best of your ability. Remember, signing up for this club is an extra responsibility you have chosen to hold.Â
Yes, Colts Press is Newspaper Club. We took Colts Press as a newspaper team and "company" name. It is mainly what we go by in the newspapers that we publish, which is located at the top of the cover page in each biweekly newspaper.
