Small Group Counseling
Small group counseling will look different, but still available throughout the 2020-2021 school year. Please contact me if you would like your student to be apart of a small group. This year's groups will focus on a variety of social skills.
Small groups are one way I support students Bear Cave Intermediate. Groups can cover a variety of topics, but typically each group will focus on one area. Areas of focus can include; friendship building, social skills, anxiety/worry, managing emotions, families, organization, self-esteem and grief.
Groups meet one time per week during lunch for several weeks or months depending on the groups progress towards goals.
Small group sessions allow students to not only learn new skills and how to apply them, but it also provides a structured social interaction to meet other students! For more information on groups being offered throughout the year and/or if you would like your student to participate in a small group, please contact me.
Lunch Bunch
School wide lunch bunch will be put on hold for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
I am excited this year to also be offering Lunch Bunch to ALL students at BCI as an extension of my Tier 1 counseling program. The intent of these new lunch groups is to give everyone the opportunity to experience a smaller lunch setting, have time to build upon the SEL skills we are working on throughout the school year, provide a structured friendship time for all kids AND for me to be able to interact on a more intimate level with all of our students. This is an extension of my classroom lessons, so every kid will be joining me for a 2 week social lunch group, sometime throughout the year.
