First and second grade students explored the art element of line through the artwork of Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock and Virginia Jaramillo, as well as in architecture in Chicago. Students identified a variety of lines and drew them in a watercolor hand painting. Students also explored the self-portraits of artists Frida Kahlo, Jacob Lawrence, Frank Big Bear, Yasuo Kuniyoski, and Zinaida Serebriakova. Both of these self-portraits were put into a folder.
