Art Shows

The 2025-26 School Year began with a hallway display of ROAR --- Bonner Elementary Code of Conduct--- Respect Others and Act Responsibly

K-2 grade students created a picture of what it looks like to respect others and act responsibly. They also had to choose their own color scheme for their artwork.

During the first quarter students learned more about what it looks like to be ROAR in the art studio space. To allow students to be creative, take care of art materials and keep the studio clean.

Kindergarten learned about the artist Paul Klee and how he used shapes. Here students are learning to share crayons as they color their shape drawings.

First Graders learned about the dessert painter Wayne Theibaud then got busy in the art studio creating their own ice cream artworks.

Second graders explored painting like abstract expressionist painters Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner and Willem and Elaine
de Kooning.

Kindergartners showed their Tiger pride for homecoming in this hallway display.

Kandinsky Painting

First graders learned how Kandinsky was inspired by concentric circles in nature and the world. Students explored mixing paint and creating concentric circles. These are currently up in a hallway display.

Second Grade

This is final video showing all the amazing color schemes in second grade abstract expressionist paintings.

Youth Art Month Flag Design Competition

This year second grade students had an option for designing a flag for the MN Youth Art Month Flag Design Competition. 35 entries were received and only 10 went on to the competition. Congratulations to Kipton's flag design that won third place! Winners of the competition are announced on the Art Educators of MN website.

ZED Traveling Art Show

The following students were chosen for the ZED Traveling Art Show this year. This art show will travel across six districts and will be on display at Bear Cave Intermediate on the stage March 4-11, 2026. More information go to the ZED website.

MN Youth Art Month Art Competition
