Special ed & student services plan

The Office of Special Education and Student Services is committed to providing ALL students with an opportunity to strengthen and expand their respective skill set through planned instructional activities.

  • Planned instructional activities will focus primarily on the academic areas of English Language Arts, Reading, & Mathematics.

  • Instruction in non-academic areas will be geared toward skill maintenance and enhancement.

  • Development and delivery of instruction will be tailored to reflect varying levels of programming support and specific grade bands.

  • Students will be provided with individual assistance and guidance as warranted.

  • Teachers and support staff will be available to assist students and families via email, virtual conferencing, or telephone consultation.

  • Student progress will be monitored via formative assessment; the results will be utilized to drive future instructional planning.

  • Related service activities will be designed to support maintenance of current skills.


Special ed & Support Services plan for sharing programming information

The Office of Special Education and Student Services will adhere to State regulations in its efforts to keep families informed about programming modifications resulting from Governor Wolf's order to close schools during the pandemic crisis.

  • Written notice outlining the District's good faith effort for ensuring student access to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) shall be provided to the parent/guardian of each student who receives services under an Individualized Education Program under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
