This course blends Language Arts with connections to science through the study of short stories, novels, drama, informational texts, and grammar. Students will participate in meaningful class discussions, creative projects, and the purposeful integration of technology.
Throughout the year, students will strengthen their reading, writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills. They will learn to develop and support a clear thesis in multi-paragraph essays while exploring a variety of writing styles and genres.
The 8th grade Language Arts curriculum is based on the California Common Core State Standards.
