Because why not?

Well, one thing that is truly important about making a dish, is how it looks. If you see a dish that doesn't look good, you probably won't want to try it. Making your dish look prettier and more aesthetic, will make more people want to try it, and fill you with pride.
1) Powdered Sugar
Powdered sugar is a great topping to elevate your dishes. Though, you probably only want to use this for desserts. It creates a somewhat light academia/classic aesthetic.

2) Sauces
Sauces like chocolate sauce, BBQ sauce, pesto, etc can all help elevate your dishes to not only taste better but look better as well. Try drizzling chocolate sauce on top of your desserts or putting tomato sauce around the outside of your plate to help create color contrast and a professional and aesthetic vibe. Just remember to not overuse it, too much sauce can also be a bad thing. It can make your dishes look sloppy. Don't do that.
3) Fruits, Veggies, and Nuts
Ok, so I added a couple more than just one, but in my mind, they are all in one category. Different fruits, veggies, and nuts can help create a seasonal vibe. They can add color contrasts and shape differences, all helping to add a more aesthetic look. Not to mention they help make a dish look fresh and natural.
All in All
Overall, I hope we can all appreciate that an essential aspect of cooking is not just how a dish tastes, but also how it looks. It's the first impression others will have when they see your food. Additionally, we should acknowledge that simply styling food can bring happiness when you see the meal you created with hard work, presented beautifully.
