December 8th - December 12th 

What we're learning:

4th grade Language Arts: We are continuing our lessons from last week. Our weekly reading story is "Hurricanes: Earth's mightiest Storms." We will focus on commonly confused words (example, to, too, two), as well as words with suffixes. 

5th Grade Language Arts:  Our new weekly reading story is "Can't You Make Them Behave, King George." We will focus on figurative language, verb tenses, and writing a persuasive paragraph 

6th Grade Language Arts:  Our new weekly reading story is "Airborn." We will focus on possessive pronouns, types of verbs, and objects of sentences. We will also work on a narrative paragraph writing assignment. 

*All classes also practice cursive handwriting and idioms thoughout the week.

5th/6th Grade Science, Health, Social Studies:  Chemical compounds in cells, we will discuss common computer related health problems, we are starting a new chapter on Mesopotamia

Homework: ( any work not finished in class)

Monday: Rainbow write the spelling words and look over vocabulary words

Tuesday & Wednesday: write a sentence for each of the spelling words and look over vocabulary words. Also finish the reading study guide if not done in class on Wednesday. 

Thursday: Write the spelling words 3 times each, reread the reading story, and look over vocabulary words

Tuesday:  Art, Gym

Wednesday: none

Friday: Music 

Notes:

Monday: Mass and Parent Group meeting at 6:15pm

Wednesday: $1 dress down day (wear animal print)

Friday: dress down in Christmas clothing for Reindeer Games
