WHAT ARE THE LIBRARY OPENING HOURS?

Library is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Lending services starts from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. from Monday to Friday(Not opened on Saturday, Sunday and Indian (Gazetted) Holidays). (Please see the Holiday list)

HOW DO I JOIN THE LIBRARY?

To get yourself enrolled in the library, you are required to produce the following documents:

  • Newly admitted students need to send copy of fee receipt and any government photo identification like Aadhar card, driving licence, passport, voter identity card etc.

  • Second and Third year students need to send copy of acknowledgement i.e. College Identification (renewed or yet to be renewed) and fee receipt.

  • In addition, it is required to produce the originals of the above-mentioned documents at your first visit to the library.

CAN I ACCESS LIBRARY SERVICES FROM HOME?

You can access Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) at http://sscbs.bestbookbuddies.com to check the status of availability of the titles. Login into your library account, Reserve titles online. Also, you can create My List of library material and save it for future use.

Password: DDMMYYYY (Date of Birth)

HOW MANY ITEMS CAN I CHECK OUT AT A TIME?

The following items can be borrowed by the students at a time.

  • Newly admitted students can borrow four books and one back issue of magazine.

  • Second and Third year students can borrow five books and one back issue of magazine

DO I NEED TO CARRY IDENTIFICATION CARD TO CHECK OUT THE LIBRARY MATERIAL?

To avail the library services, we strongly suggest you to bring your ID card with you.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE TO GET BOOKS ISSUED/RETURN FROM/TO THE LIBRARY DURING PANDEMIC TIME?

Student will provide us the details of titles at library@sscbsdu.ac.in and Time slot will be given to the respective student via return mail to borrow/return the books from/to the library.

Note: It is essentially required to first return the overdue items to get books issued from the library.

WHAT ARE THE POINTS NEED TO BE KEPT IN MIND BEFORE ISSUING THE ITEMS FROM THE LIBRARY?

Before getting the books/magazines issued from the library the pages should be checked thoroughly and if the pages are missing or marked/underlined with pen, pencil or any other means, kindly get it signed by the staff on duty at the circulation desk. While returning, if pages are found missing/marked borrower shall be held responsible by replacing the item.

CAN I BORROW THE BOOKS USING MY FRIENDS’ ID CARD?

Your identification card is non-transferable. Library books will be issued to you only after verifying your details.

HOW MUCH ARE OVERDUE FINES ON BOOKS AND MAGAZINES?

An overdue fine for books/magazines will be Re. 1.00 per day plus Rs. 50.00 after 15 days of the due date of the borrowed material, if still not returned, the borrowed material for the next week, fine will be Re. 1.00 per day plus Rs. 50.00….Continued in the same way for the other upcoming weeks. (Please refer to the fine chart).

DOES LIBRARY PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE ELECTRONIC RESOURCES?

Library has an institutional membership of NLIST and DELNET [http://164.100.247.26/] through which you can access e-books and e-journals etc. To register for NLIST, please send your details at library@sscbsdu.ac.in
