I did my Graduation from Shivaji College, University of Delhi. I did my Master's, M. Phil. and Ph.D degree from Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics of University of Delhi. I have been a student of senior Geographers like Prof R Ramachandran, Prof. S.K, Pal, Prof. C.P. Singh, Prof. B.Thakur, Prof. Noor Mohammad and Prof. R.P. Mishra. My Ph.D. was supervised by Prof. H. Ramachandran. After completion of M.Phil., I taught in Kirori Mal College and Shivaji College on adhoc basis. In Swami Shraddhanand College, the department of Geography was started in 1996 and I was the first one to join the department on adhoc basis. Later on I was appointed on permanent basis on 17/12/1997. So I joined this newly formed department from day one and tried to develop it with hard work and complete dedication. I taught various papers in more than 23 years of teaching career. I have visited Geography departments of Berlin and Bhutan. I attended number of International and national conferences, seminars, workshops and training programmes and presented papers in these. There are 15 papers published in peer reviewed/refereed journals on national and international repute. I published 2 books and one of these is also translated into Hindi medium. My areas of specialisation are Regional Development Problems, Application of Statistical Methods in Geography, GIS and Agriculture Geography. At present I am learning QGIS - open source GIS software. I am also trying to promote the knowledge of QGIS among the faculty and the students of university of Delhi and other Universities.
