About the Zen Den
It is a place in the Counseling Office, a dedicated room in our school designed to help students take a quick "brain break," regulate their emotions, and reset so they can return to class ready to learn.
Think of it as a calming pit stop during a busy school day. It is a safe, supportive environment where students can learn lifelong skills for managing stress, anxiety, or big feelings.
Students are not permiited to socialize with friends in the Zen Den during this time. There are no phones and chromebooks are not allowed in the Zen Den. Students can come and unwind while taking a short break. Food is also not permitted in the Zen Den.
Student would ask their teacher to come to the Counseling Office.
Student needs to sign into the Counseling Office.
Student needs to inform the Counselor Registrar and sign in and sign out of the Zen Den. Student must leave backpack with devices by the Counselor Registrar.
Counselor Registrar will inform the student when their time is up in the Zen Den. Student, then, will return to class and will have the option to speak to the Counselor.
