HOW TO LEVEL BOOKS AT HOME
Getting your child to read at their "Just Right" reading level is a great way to stretch their reading skills. Scholastic Book Wizard is an on-line site where you can find the reading level of many popular titles. Here is what you need to know when you visit this site:
Under the READING LEVEL SYSTEM choose Guided Reading Level
Go back up to the search icon and type in the book title or the author name that you are looking to level.
Hitting the Grade Level button will show you grade-level titles that you may want to know about.
TIP: If you are able to find out the reading level for the book your are searching, I like to write the level on the upper right hand corner of the cover.
