Auditions

The Monte Vista Dance Program will be hosting auditions for the 2023-2024 classes at the end of March.  There will be a workshop to learn the audition routine on Monday, March 25th at 3:30 - 5:30pm in the MV Small Gym.  Auditions will be held on Wednesday, March 27th after school in the MV Dance Room.  Please select your audition time slot using the button below.  Results will be posted on Friday, March 29th on this page, as well as the bulletin board just outside the dance room.

Students will need to be warmed up and ready to go at the start of their audition time slot.  First, they will demonstrate a variety of technical skills including kicks, turns, and leaps.  Then, they will perform the provided choreography with an option of adding in any additional skills they feel may help them advance in levels.  

FRESHMEN: You may take any of the dance classes for Fine Arts credit your freshmen year.  All freshmen are required to take PE9, unless they have qualified for athletic PE or Independent PE (both of which require applications and approval - please see counselor for your options).  Students may elect to take dance for PE or Fine Arts towards graduation in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. 

Introduction to Dance is our introductory class and does not require an audition.
