Welcome to First Grade!

I am delighted to be one of your child’s first-grade teachers this year! This will be my tenth year teaching at Vista Grande. I have taught first, second, and third grade, but I have to say—first grade is my favorite!

I grew up in Danville and attended SRVUSD schools, so returning to the district as a teacher felt like a natural choice.

At home, I am a busy mom to my daughters, Audrey, who is 3, and Lennon, who is 3 months old, along with our puppy, Theo!

I began my career in recruiting for an IT firm, but quickly realized my heart was in teaching. I love watching children grow in confidence, seeing those special “aha” moments, and experiencing the curiosity and excitement they bring to learning.

Outside of school, I enjoy staying active, cooking, spending time with family, and taking spontaneous day trips whenever I can.

I am so excited to work alongside Mrs. Dalmada and look forward to a wonderful year together!

I’m excited to welcome you to a brand-new school year! Teaching has always been my dream job, and I feel fortunate to get to do what I love. This year marks my 22nd year in the classroom. I’ve taught 1st/2nd grade science here at VG for two years, kindergarten for four years after that, and last year was my first in first grade.  Before having chiIdren of my own,  I spent 15 wonderful years teaching 4th–6th grades in Lodi and Moraga.

VG is extra special to me because both of my daughters are VG graduates. Grace is 19 and a sophomore at SDSU, and Jacqueline is 17 and starting her senior year at CHS in San Ramon.

I love watching students learn to read and write — it’s pure magic to see them be able to communicate their ideas and feelings. I’m looking forward to getting to know each of your children, learning together, and making this a year full of curiosity, relationship and discovery.
