Weekly Homework
Homework bag includes planner, phonics and math workbooks, independent reading books, and Monday folder (Mondays only).
Homework Schedule:
Monday-Thursday: One workbook page (noted in the planner), and independent reading time.
Return bag daily; it stays at school on weekends.
Parent Responsibilities:
Check and initial planner daily.
Use planner for HW communication.
Monday Folder: The folder will have two sides:
Return to School: Important papers that need to come back to school, such as the Star Student poster or assessments that need to be signed and returned.
Keep at Home: Completed schoolwork and other papers for you to keep. Important items, such as school flyers or Newscast reminders, will be placed on top.
Birthday Celebrations
Please do not bring food or goodie bags to share. We will sing as a class to your child, they will receive a goodie from us, and their desk will be decorated. Parents are not invited to birthday celebrations and we ask that you do not bring a special lunch. Each “summer baby” will be celebrated at the end of the year. We will dedicate one day to each student.
Snacks and Water Bottles
Please provide your child with two snacks: one for snack recess in the morning and one for our afternoon mini break. Snacks will stay in backpacks until snack time, and it is the child's responsibility to eat them when hungry. If a student forgets a snack, we will direct them to the cafeteria to receive the “free breakfast” option for that day. Please also send your child to school with a water bottle reusable preferred as we have refill stations around campus.
Lunch
Your child will eat lunch at school. Please pack a healthy and nutritious lunch. Alternatively, your child can buy lunch in the multipurpose room, but they must know their student ID number. Please send an index card with their student ID until they memorize it. Packed lunches will stay in backpacks until lunchtime. Be cautious of sending peanut foods and be mindful of allergies in the class.
Birthday Invitations
If you would like your child to pass out birthday invitations at school, please contact the teacher first. All students in the class must be invited if invitations are passed out at school, with teacher approval.
Donations
If you have extra party favors or small toys at home that you would like to donate to our class for prizes, we’d appreciate it!
