February 7th we will be having representatives on campus from the Disability Student Services(DSS) department at DVC and the Department of Rehabilitation(DOR). They will be providing valuable information for transitional services after high school.
SENIORS ONLY - 9:15 - 10:00 in the library - The DVC representatives will be helping students register to receive services through the DSS department. In order for this to happen, students must be registered as a student at DVC prior to the meeting. For any seniors that aren't planning on attending DVC but instead another local junior college, they are still encouraged to attend this meeting to learn more about what supports DSS departments can offer to students.
All Grades - 10:00 - 10:35 in the library - Representatives from the DOR will be giving a presentation on what supports they can provide to students transitioning to life after high school graduation.
We will be handing out passes for students to attend the morning of the presentations. Please reach out to your case managers or our department chairs: Greg Fortayon or Shirley Darroch if you have any questions.
Club Fair will be held during lunch on 9/16 and 9/17/2024

DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION INFORMATION SESSION FOR SENIORS
When: Monday, March 25, 2024 10am – 10:30am
Joining Information: Email your case manager/counselor if you are interested in attending
If you are a Senior with an IEP or 504, you may be interested to learn about the many services the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) can provide you when you graduate. For example, did you know that your college tuition, books and transportation to and from school could be paid for by the DOR?
The first step is applying for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services. Once you are determined eligible, you and your counselor will develop your Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) listing your job objective and the DOR services you will need to receive to reach your goal.
There will also be a presentation on May 7, 2024 from 4-5pm that families are welcome to attend to learn more about the Vocational Rehabilitation services. More information to come ·
