Transition to High School

After completing 8th grade, DVMS students will move on to Monte Vista High School. It is strongly recommended for 8th grade families to join the MVHS newsletters and review their website for upcoming 9th grade information.

Every year in the spring, MVHS counselors come to DVMS to meet with 8th graders 1:1. This is a great opportunity for students to meet the counselor, review 9th grade course requests, and ask questions. No sign ups are necessary - this is an automatic process for all DVMS 8th graders.

If your student will be attending a high school other than MVHS, we encourage you to contact the counseling team at that school directly for information and support.
