The Wildcat Forward Motion Invitational hosted by Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon and sponsored by Forward Motion Sports in Danville is an exciting new event for your cross-country calendar.
Taking advantage of the excellent facilities on campus coupled with the adjoining trail system, we're thrilled to offer an exciting event with its inaugural running on Saturday, October 4th, 2025.

$15.00 per athlete. $450.00 per single gender unlimited entries; $650.00 for boys and girls unlimited entries

On-line registration closes Thursday, October 2nd. The field will be limited to the first 50 teams for which entry fees have been received. Fees are due no later than Friday, September 26.

Check-In
Upon arrival all coaches will receive a packet with schedules, an entry list, athlete bib number list, bibs and safety pins. Please check in prior to 8 AM. There will be a brief coaches meeting at the finish line at 8:15 AM.

Dougherty Valley High School has plenty of parking and if needed there is spill-over parking in nearby neighborhoods. The parking lots by the tennis courts and at the back of the campus will be closed. The main parking lot will be accessible via the main entrance off of Albion Road, and the lower parking lots in front of the pool and gym will be accessible via the secondary entrance off of Albion Road.
Team tents can be set up in the stadium stands or on the perimeter of the stadium.
Restrooms are available at the stadium entrance, on the outside of the Auxiliary Gym, and the portable classrooms adjoining the Aux gym. Additional portable toilets will be set up in the parking lot by the tennis courts.
A concession stand with refreshments and food will be available throughout the day. Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase.
A certified medical trainer will be on site during the event and located inside the stadium.

Please note that we will split the field into multiple races to accommodate more teams and athletes as needed - keep an eye on this page as we approach race day for schedule adjustments.
Timing and results will be provided by the best-in-class, Diablo Timing with live results available throughout the meet.

Top 15 finishers in Frosh-soph and Junior Varsity races. and top 25 finishers in the Varsity races will receive custom medals.

Course Map
Course Map
The race begins on the natural grass softball field, providing ample space for athletes to position themselves as they enter the course. From there, runners traverse the perimeter of the campus before entering a circuit on the upper baseball field.
The first mile marker is reached near the varsity (lower) baseball field. After passing this point, the course continues through campus before reversing direction, taking runners back toward the starting area and leading them out to the Alamo Creek Trail.
Turning right onto the trail, runners begin a climb up the hill and reach the second mile marker, located near Japonica Way. A short section along the sidewalk guides athletes back to the lower part of the trail, which descends to the bottom of campus.
Re-entering campus, the course takes a brief stretch below the stadium before heading into the final leg. A quick ascent up the access ramp brings runners to the stadium entrance, where they complete the race with a sprint to the finish line on the track.
All races will be 3 miles.
