Creekside Art

Welcome to the Creekside Elementary Art Program!

We are very fortunate to have a comprehensive art program to teach our Comets about the wonderful world of art! It is only made possible by parent donations to our Education Fund and the PTA. We sincerely thank you for your support!

The art curriculum covers all aspects including the basic elements of art, styles and techniques. We encourage students to incorporate their own ideas and create their own beautiful masterpieces! From Transitional Kindergarten to fifth grade, students learn the history of art from master artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, Paul Klee and others. From crayons to ceramics students learn to use different mediums and explore new methods of creating art!

Our Art Docent program allows parents to be involved in their students classrooms and give them an opportunity to teach art. Every month docents attend our workshops where they learn and create art projects which they will then teach the in their respective classrooms. This is a great way to bring more art into the classrooms and the kids LOVE seeing their parent being involved! If you are interested in volunteering as an art docent please contact your child's teacher or Ms. Bhu the Art Teacher/Art Docent Program Coordinator at bsingh@srvusd.net. There is a mandatory Orientation meeting on Friday, August 24th at 8:15am in the MPR. Please check out the Art Docent program page for more information including monthly workshop dates.

Looking forward to a great creative year!
