Entering Mount Olive we were optimistic about our machine since we could score any piece at any level including scoring + mobility during auto. We were working on a 2 piece autonomous without vision so it was just luck.
Saturday, we had our practice match and we had trouble adjusting to picking up pieces from the double substation. Then our pneumatic hands were having trouble holding onto pieces and we went 1-7 on the day. It was a very tough day and we were in last place overall. However, we knew some fixes to do and adjusted our focus on being competitive.
We ended up 3-1 on Sunday before alliance selection having us at 4-8 ranked 32. We played with 11 Mount Olive Robotics Team and 1676 Pascack Pioneers who were ranked 1 and 2 respectively. During that match we showed some strength and ability to work together. We were very far on the outside looking in but showed great improvement! Luckily, 11 and 1676 teamed up and chose us as the second pick to finalize the number 1 alliance.
Playoffs went well for the alliance winning the first two matches to move to winners finals. We had one major issue during those two matches where when trying to triple balance our robot died but we were up enough points to make it menial. Winners finals was a very tough match where we were faced up against 125 NUTRONs, 1923 Midknight Inventors and 484 Roboforce. This loss dropped us down to the lower bracket finals facing alliance 4: 3142 Aperture, 1279 Cold Fusion and 1672 Robo T-Birds. A big collision mid match took out one team from each alliance but we were able to take the win by a slim margin. This puts us to finals versus the number 2 alliance again. Finals did not go the way we wanted with some battery issues but for us, finishing second in playoffs was win for the 32nd rank team.

After Mount Olive we made some major changes to the machine to improve our ability to score during teleop. We took away our extension to fit the intake but we could now use the single substation for cones and cubes.
Saturday went well for us, we went 4-4 with more consistent scoring in our matches. We also improved our auto where we always scored our mid cone and could have mobility on any side. We went home for the day thinking we did well and would be a mid teens ranked team if we split our matches on Sunday.
Sunday we did split our matches but earned more rank points than expected ending us in 12th place. We did not expect to be this high as we were 19th entering the day. We knew we proved ourselves and we would compete in any alliance. What we never imagined would be us being an alliance captain. We ended up being the 8th alliance captain and we picked 4652 Ironmen 2 and 56 ROBBE.
Playoffs were going to be tough since we were facing our previous partners 11 and 1676 in round one. We developed a plan with our partners and got everything in motion for our first playoff match. We came out hot and alliance 1's second pick died early so it was a 3v2 the entire match. We ended up upsetting this alliance by 6 points and moved us to winners round 2. We were able to win that as well putting us back in the winners finals. We were up by more than ten points going into endgame and we went for a risky triple balance to cover any possible penalty points. We ended up not balancing and lost by a few points. This pushed us to losers finals where every possible thing that could go wrong would. Our hands broke, Ironmen lost their drivetrain, and ROBBE disconnected for over 30 seconds. It was another good run but no banner for us.

district championship
This was only our 4th time ever attending District Championships and we were on the upswing of scoring. Our biggest goal in our week off to develop an autonomous balance. We got it working but needed a real charge station to finalize the code. We kept our consistent scoring but the competition was very tough and we had some minor errors. We ended the event 4-6-0 ranked 45th. We did not make playoffs but we left with our heads held high after a great season.
