Newsletter for January 12 - 16, 2026
Dear Parents,
Mrs. Arnold told me wonderful things about your children. I am excited to get back and see where we are in the classwork. This week, we begin a New Unit in Religion with Chapter 13. In Math, we continue with subtraction and begin work on fact families. We continue Unit 7 in Fundations. There is a new Spelling paper with the trick words for Unit 7 and glued sound words for ang, ing, ong and ung. This week, the children will start work on their new Handwriting books.
Plan for the Week
Religion – Unit 3 Chapter 13 Jesus Calls Apostles
Math – Subtraction and Fact Family Work
ELA – Review Unit 2 Week 4 and begin Unit 2 Week 5. Essential Question - How can you find your way around? Genre: Informational Text Stories: “ Me on the Map”, “Map It!”, “ Which Way on the Map?” and “Fun With Maps” High frequency words: around, by, many, place, walk
Handwriting – Cc and Grammar – Capitalize Proper nouns, Capital letters, and periods in sentences
Fundations - Unit 7 review Week 1 and begin Week 2
Spelling- the words are: try, my, by, why, ring, sing, bang, song, hung, thing
Social Studies - work on maps and Martin Luther King
Reminders:
~ No classes on Monday January 19th – Martin Luther King Day
~ Catholic Schools Week – January 25th - January 30th
~ Friday, January 30th - Grandparent/Special Visitor Day - Mass is at 9:30
Grandparents may visit the school after Mass. Early dismissal at 11:50 - No buses
Please make sure your child has a visitor on this special day.
