Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to meet all the Grandparents on Friday. The children were so excited, and everyone was happy. I was proud to be part of St. Pius X School at the Mass on Friday. It is always special to see former students on the altar as they participate in the liturgy by reading and singing. I always remind the First Grade to watch the children on the altar because one day it will be their turn.
This week, we begin new Chapters in Religion, Wonders, and Fundations. We have the Unit 2 Wonders test.
Plan for the Week
Religion- begin Chapter 15

Wonders: We will begin Unit 2 testing on Monday and complete it by Wednesday.
Wonders- Unit 3 Week 1 - Essential Question: How do we measure time?
Spelling words: would, could, should, green, flag, drop, jump, best, must, black
Sight Words: away, now, some, today, way, why
Fundations- Unit 8- blends
Social Studies – Life one hundred years ago
Reminders:
~Valentine’s Day Celebration will be on Friday, February 13th. Please begin preparing cards for the celebration.
~February 16th – President’s Day – School closed.
~ I need to ask you for paper towels and tissues for the classroom.
