First Grade Newsletter for March 23-27, 2026
Dear Parents,
What a beautiful Sunday. I hope you were able to enjoy the day. This week in Religion, we will discuss Palm Sunday and Holy Week. We will finish Chapter 5 in Math. In ELA, it’s Unit 4, Week 1 in our Wonders Program; Unit 10, Week 1 for Fundations; and 10 new Spelling words. I will send the Spelling paper home on Tuesday. (The test will be next Wednesday, April 1st)
Thank you to the wonderful parents who sent in tissues. I ran to the store for some boxes on Thursday night, but you helped fill the shelf. I do appreciate your kindness and help.
In a few weeks, we will be working on the Wonders Unit for Week 4. The Essential Question is: “What insects do you know about?” I put about 20 different insect names into a bin, and the children pick their insect. I will send home an Insect Project Information paper, and the children will write the name of their insect on their paper. This project will help us learn about 17 different bugs/insects. This is also a writing grade for each child. This project is always a hit. Each child presents their information to the class.
Plan for the Week
Religion- Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday
Math- Chapter 5 and testing at the end of the week.
