Dear Parents,
God bless you on this second week of Advent. I hope you had a great long weekend. This week, we will continue the Christmas Story in Religion and continue Chapter 3 (subtraction) in Math. In ELA, we will begin Unit 2, Week 3, in Wonders and work on Unit 6, Week 3, in Fundations.
We will be working hard on our regular classwork and also continuing some Christmas crafts and presents. Our card exchange will be on Friday, December 12th. I plan to teach some Christmas songs and poems this week. The children have been working with Mrs. Seif on the songs for the Pageant next week.
Plan for the Week
Religion- continue the Christmas story, Chapter 10
Math- continue our chapter on subtraction
ELA- Wonders-We will have the Progress Monitoring assessment for Unit 2 Week 2 on Monday, and also begin Unit 2 Week 3.
Essential Question - Where do animals live together? Genre Focus - Informational text
Books:”Babies in the Bayou”, “Animals in the Desert”, “The Best Spot”
High Frequency Words: eat, no, of, under, who
ELA- Fundations- Unit 6 Week 3 Baseword and suffix with the suffix -s, pluralization, narrative fiction vs. informational books. Trick words: were, are, who, what, when, where, there, here. This Unit is 3 weeks.
