Homecoming Dance

This year's Homecoming Dance, themed "Night in the Bayou," will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Pasadena Convention Center. Come for a memorable evening with dancing, table games, photo booths, and a slider bar.

Tickets will be sold at the Student Bank during lunch from Mon 9/28 through Thu 10/15. The SPHS Social and Digital Media Use Student Agreement (https://bit.ly/sphs-socialmedia) must be signed in order to purchase tickets. Ooter forms for guests are available in the office and must be turned in by 4:00 pm on Wed 10/14.

Volunteers needed for AV Movie Night on Friday, October 2, 2026

We are looking for high school students to volunteer at Arroyo Vista's movie night on Friday, October 2nd. This means volunteer hours

A few things of note:

To ensure your hours are signed off on, all volunteers should bring a PRINTED copy of their volunteer form to the event. FORM
Check-in times are listed with each slot. All volunteers will enter at the Doran Gate on the backside of Arroyo Vista. No other gates will be open.
On arrival, please ask for O'ryan or Patti. They will direct you to your station. They will also sign off on your volunteer hours.

No Drop Off of Items

Please remember to send your student to school with everything they need. The front office does not accept drop-offs of ANY items; this includes food, clothing, sports equipment, homework etc.

The library MakerSpace is open! Stop by before school, brunch, lunch, or after school. We have crafts, games, & puzzles. Each month there will be a featured craft and of course we always have our card making, junk journals, perler beads, bookmarks and more. If you have any questions, see Ms. Luna in the library.

Parent Representative Wanted

SPHS is seeking a high school parent representative to serve on the Ed Tech Committee for the next two school years (due to an unexpected vacancy).

As we did a few years ago when the committee was initially formed, we are looking for a volunteer from our SPHS parent community who is knowledgeable about technology and has an interest in working collaboratively with other parent representatives, teachers, staff, and students to develop technology guidance.

The Ed Tech Committee meets once a month on Wednesday afternoons from 3-4:30 p.m. If you are available at this time and are interested in volunteering to serve in this role, please send an email to Jessica Zavala (jzavala@spusd.net), the high school admin designee on the Ed Tech Committee, expressing your interest by October 1, 2026.

If more than one parent is interested in serving in this role, SPHS site administrators will consult with the SPHS PTA president and select a parent to serve.

Counselors are now meeting with seniors if they need a letter of recommendation. Please make sure your student is aware of the 10/30 deadline to sign up. Students can check their Class of 27 Google Classroom for more info.

The Superintendent's Student Advisory Group is now accepting applications from 8th-12th grade students. Share your ideas, collaborate with staff, and make an impact in SPUSD. Apply by September 25 at 5 p.m. We look forward to meeting you!
