now it's your turn
to create an expectation vs reality artwork!
MATERIAL NEEDED:
pencil, eraser
blank paper (you may draw 2 or more squares to represent each CELL)
ruler
colored pencils, if desired
Step 1:
Brainstorm in your sketchbook or a piece of paper for themes/topics. It's best if they are relatable to other people, so they will understand your humor and drawing!
Here are a few ideas to get your started: baking a cake, participating in a Zoom class, skateboarding, playing a sport, summer vacation, learning a new TikTok dance (just make sure whatever your draw is school appropriate).
Step 2:
Sketch your art. All you need is a piece of blank paper. Start with pencil. You can create your work in comic format using panels or a more free-form illustration. Feel free to add captions or speech bubbles too, which can help tell your story.
Step 3:
Make it pop! You have a few choices: Pencil/grayscale (add some shading! DON'T JUST LEAVE IT AS A PENCIL OUTLINE), high contrast black & white, or full color!
Flat color or shadows/shading for depth? It's your choice! Your drawing should look complete & neatly done. You may need a few tries before getting things just the way you like.
Step 4:
Turn in to your period's INBOX!
Admire your awesome art and how hilarious you are!
