Looking for something meaningful to do this summer? Summer programs are a great way to explore your interests, build college-ready skills, and strengthen your college applications. Below is a list of summer opportunities available to high school students in grades 6–12, including programs focused on research, leadership, STEM, college preparation, and career exploration.
These programs are hosted by universities and organizations across California and the U.S. Some are competitive, while others are designed to support first-generation, low-income, or underrepresented students.

Meet students from different schools and backgrounds
Application deadlines begin as early as February and March 2026.
Many programs require essays, transcripts, and recommendations.
Students must be able to attend the entire program if accepted.
Some programs have fees, but many offer financial aid or are free.
Carefully review the eligibility requirements for each program.
Start your applications early.
Talk with your counselor if you need help deciding which programs are a good fit or if you need support with applications.
