YEAR 2 — INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01 — LEARN
Expanding Railway Knowledge Through Language
During my year-long exchange in China, I expanded my knowledge of railway engineering while developing Chinese language skills in an international learning environment. I focused on railway-related terminology and technical vocabulary, allowing me to connect engineering concepts with practical language use.
This experience strengthened both my technical foundation and my ability to learn and communicate across languages.
02 — LIVE
Learning to Communicate Beyond the Classroom
Living in China challenged me to use Chinese independently in real-life situations. From ordering food and shopping to navigating unfamiliar places and communicating with local people, I learned to express myself with greater confidence and independence.
Everyday communication became an opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, adapt to new situations, and develop practical language skills.
03 — CONNECT
Building Connections Across Cultures
I actively connected with Chinese students and people from different backgrounds, building friendships and finding opportunities to practice Chinese through natural, everyday conversations.
These experiences taught me that effective communication is not only about language, but also about understanding people, respecting different perspectives, and building meaningful connections across cultures.
04 — EXPLORE
Discovering China Through Everyday Life
Beyond academics, I explored China through travel, friendships, and everyday experiences. I had the opportunity to discover new places, experience local culture, and gain a deeper understanding of different lifestyles and ways of living.
Living abroad helped me become more adaptable, open-minded, independent, and confident in navigating a new environment.
A year abroad that transformed language learning into real-world experience, independence, and a broader perspective of the world.
