VOTE Tuesday, November 4
TAX NEUTRAL
TAX NEUTRAL
Somers Point School District has provided the educational foundation for generations of children in the community since 1914.
To continue carrying out this important mission for generations to come, the district must make key improvements to the buildings. On Tuesday, November 4, the district will hold a bond referendum to fund these major projects.
Voter approval would:
Provide upfront funds for large, long-lasting facilities improvements, similar to how a homeowner uses a home equity loan for improvements like replacing a roof, installing new windows, etc.
Secure $1.9 million in state aid toward the projects
Allow $5.6 million in improvements to be completed with NO TAX INCREASE
Every building is included in the TAX NEUTRAL referendum, which would:
Increase Security, Accessibility
Enhance Efficiency, Update Buildings
Expand Preschool to Keep Valuable State Funding
Voter approval secures state aid with NO tax increase
Payments from a previous referendum are ending where payments on a new referendum would begin
With the help of state aid, the district can finance the facilities improvements and continue to make payments at the same level as the one that will be paid off, with no tax increase.
