Specialty Programs

Students can start to apply for specialty programs at the beginning of their 8th-grade school year. Teachers and counselors work with students to determine appropriate levels of coursework and the sequence of advanced or honors courses. The SPS Planning Guide is an available resource for assistance with the process. High School students may enroll in Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment Courses and/or continue to apply for specialty programs offered: 

• Project Lead The Way Biomedical Sciences 

• Project Lead The Way Pathways to Engineering 

• International Baccalaureate 

• The Center for Performing and Production Arts 

• Governor's School for the Arts
