South Portland High School Local Scholarship Application
Members of the Class of 2026 have the opportunity to apply for scholarship funds through the South Portland High School Local Scholarship Application. This is an umbrella application for more than 35 scholarships with various amounts. This application is quick and easy to complete and does not require an essay. Eligibility: Applicants must be full-time residents of Maine on track to graduate from a public high school in Maine. Applicants should plan to attend a two-year or four-year degree program at an accredited college or university in the fall semester immediately following their high school graduation. Students pursuing a two-year degree are eligible for up to four years of scholarship support if they continue their education beyond the initial two years. Candidates are evaluated based on the following criteria: academics, community impact, and financial need.

State Sponsor: Maine Driver Education Association
Eligibility: One scholarship for a first-year (freshman) full-time student. This student must have been instructed in driver education by an instructor who was a member of MEDEA at the time of the driver education course. The name of the driving school and instructor is required.
A second scholarship, The Mike Sirois Scholarship, is for any MEDEA family member entering any academic year. The name of the family member and affiliated driving school is required. Please note your relationship to the MEDEA member.

Eligibility:
US citizen and current resident of Maine.
High school senior or recent high school graduate.
Enrolling as a full-time, first-year student in a four-year degree program at an accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university in the US.
Strong academic record in high school.
Motivated to excel in college and make a difference in their community and in society overall.
Plans to complete one economics course and two of the following courses prior to completing college: accounting, finance, history, or psychology.
