Random facts about Ms. Schmearer

1. I am a twin.

2. I played the accordion in third grade and won first place in the all-state accordion contest that year. (And yes, there was an all-state accordion contest!)

3. I also played the oboe for many years, as well as the saxophone and I was drum major for my high school marching band.

4. I lived in Paris and studied at the Sorbonne.

5. I lived in Madrid and studied at the Universidad de Madrid.

6. I am from Pennsylvania.

7. I was an Assistant Dean of Students, a department store manager, and I owned a cafe where we served our own homemade ice cream and vegetarian entrées.

8. I love reading and talking about books!

9. I also love walking several miles a day, especially when the Maine weather allows me to do so outdoors!

10. I am a breast cancer survivor.

11. I love singing, especially show tunes!

12. I play in a bell choir.

13. I am the proud daughter of two amazing retired public school educators.

14. I love visiting my parents at their cottage and hearing the loons calling on the lake.

15. My favorite foods are chickpeas, salmon and my cousin Julie's famous onion dip!

16. I have two wonderful brothers and one awesome sister.

17. I love fancy colored pens and fun writing utensils!

18. I am a vegetarian.

19. I think Marvel Movies rock! (Captain America is my favorite!)

20. And well, many will be surprised that I did not mention this first, but...I am Elton John's number one fan and will be singing with him on stage one day.
