Chorus is an elected related art for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who enjoy singing.
Students in chorus are learning to become independent musicians WHILE learning to be a part of an ensemble, that works as a team to create music. We sing a variety of music including pop music from movies and artists today, as well as music from around the world and classical pieces! Our goal in chorus is to sing wonderful music, relay the message of composers and lyricists to our audience, & to have fun.
6th Grade Chorus: Day 6 during WINN and Tuesday or Wednesday Morning (Even day) in Room 203
7th and 8th Grade Chorus: Days 2 and 4 during WINN in Room 203
For each grade there are 7 standards. 2 are specialized to your grade level whereas there are 5 that you will be working each year: CHECK OUT THE ELTS. All standards in chorus will be scored on 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, and 4. More specific breakdowns (rubrics) on how you will be scored on each target will be presented.
HOW grade is very important in chorus. If you are really focusing on being prepared and engaged as well as having positive interactions you will be very successful!
Prepared for Chorus means coming to class on time, getting music, finding your seat, and being ready to sing!
Engaged means participating actively. Following along with activities in class. Asking questions. SINGING!
Positive Interactions in class means treating each other with kindness and respect. Respecting each others personal spaces. Being kind with your words and actions.
