Welcome to Grade 6 Advanced Math!

We will begin the year with a review of fraction and decimal operations. We will also explore and learn about percents, ratios, integers, rational operations, statistics and probability.

I look forward to having fun with you as we explore the wonderful world of mathematics!

Class expectations...

• In my classroom I follow the Learners' Code: the 5 P's

◦ Be Prompt to class and remain for the duration of the class period.

◦ Be Positive in your attitude and in the way that you treat other people.

◦ Be Polite to everyone. NO EXCEPTIONS.

◦ Be Prepared with appropriate materials and be focused on the learning targets and engaged in the lesson.

◦ Be Productive by focusing on the Learning Agenda and classroom expectations established by the teacher and class.

• Homework: Students can expect to receive daily homework which should take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Homework assignments will be posted on the Homework section of this website by the date it was assigned as well as in Google Classroom. Homework is always due the next class day, unless otherwise noted.

• Absences: If a student misses school, it is their responsibility to find out and complete all assignments they have missed while out. Students may obtain missed assignments through my website which can be assessed from the school websites or in Google Classroom. It is helpful if students (and/or parents) touch base with me via email when they are absent.
