Get to Know Your Teacher

Hi! Welcome to High School English!

My name is Mr. Sposato, and I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to let you know that I am excited to be teaching you or your child in English class this year.

The 2023-2024 school year is going to mark the 20th year of my teaching career.  In addition to teaching at Spotswood for the last 10 years, I have taught in Downtown Miami and South River.  I have taught 7th graders, 9th graders, 10th graders, 11th graders, and 12th graders.  I have taught middle school Reading, Read/Write Development, Comprehensive ELA, College Prep, Honors, SAT Prep, Advanced Placement (AP), and most recently, Myth and Media.  I have advised community servicedrama, literary magazine, and GSA clubs.

And when I am not playing the role of teacher, I am a son, brother, friend, husband, and very proud father (my son is starting 2nd grade this year!).

I am also a proud SHS Alum (Class of 2000) and Ramapo College of NJ Roadrunner (Class of 2004).

Your students will be told that they can always ask me questions in class and should utilize my open office hours in the mornings or afternoons when they need to and are available.

As a parent or guardian, you should also feel free to contact me as needed.  My email is dsposato@spsd.us and we can always try to find a mutually convenient time for a phone call, or even schedule a Google Meet conference (also during my open office times).
