Kindergarten Basics
Before Entering Kindergarten...
*Know all of the upper-case and lower-case letters. Can he/she identify and NAME the letter out of alphabetical order? This is separate from just knowing the Alphabet Song.
*Be able to identify his/her name with one upper-case letter at the beginning, and the rest lower-case letters.
*Be able to write his/her first name (writing in all upper-case letters is fine).
*Begin matching lower-case letters with their upper-case counterparts.
**In kindergarten, we begin learning that the letter is a symbol for a specific sound.
*Be able to identify and name the numbers 1-10.Â
*Count to 20.
*Be able to identify and name four basic shapes: circle, triangle, square, & rectangle.
*Be able to open a book correctly, and turn the pages by his/herself (not an e-book).
*Be able to share with others.
