Types of Scholarships
College/Institutional Scholarships- Institutional aid comes from the attending college itself. Often institutional aid is need-based or merit based. Need-based depends on your personal and family's finances, while merit-based is determined by your grades, achievements, or extracurricular activities. These scholarships can be found by contacting the financial aid department or admissions office of your school of choice. In order to apply for this type of scholarship, you must first apply for admission to the college/trade-school and then fill out the scholarship application.
Private/Outside Scholarships (Local & National)- Scholarships offered from a variety of organizations and funded to the student regardless of the post-secondary institution they attend.
