High Times Magazine

The first volume of The High Times news magazine was published May 3, 1913. For several years, the school published both the High Times magazine and the School Times newspaper as separate journalistic entities. The name of the school newspaper changed from School Times to High Times in October of 1925. The magazine seemed to evolve from a collection of news and feature articles to a platform for student literary work. An article summarizing the first 50 years of the "High Times" publications is in the May 2, 1963 newspaper.

By 2012, the CHS journalism staff began to publish the High Times as more of a quarterly magazine rather than as a traditional newspaper. Nonetheless, we continue to file them with "newspaper" collection to avoid confusion with the earlier HT Magazines.
