About the Central High School Heritage Room
The CHS Heritage Room is room is located in the oldest wing of Central High School (established 1893). The room was converted into an office space in 2020, but prior to that time this area housed scrapbooks, pictures, newspapers, and various memorabilia that accumulated over the decades. These items are currently being stored in the library or in archival storage containers** on the first floor. The CHS library staff began to digitally archive the Heritage Room collection during the summer of 2017. This is a long term project that will be completed with the help of student and adult volunteers.* Please visit the website and the links below to view our progress.

On Feb. 28, 2018, CHS celebrated our 125th birthday. Events included a timeline display in the library. CLICK HERE to view a local news broadcast of the event.

*Several students have helped scan Heritage Room material. Here are some past and present Library/Archive Club members who have helped scan and organize our archives. **CHS Nursery Coordinators Clarissa Lewis-Sommer and Stacy Bailey were instrumental in organizing and itemizing the rolling archive cabinets. Thank you to Interim Principals Seal and Brunner for purchasing these cabinets so that CHS heritage items could be preserved.
