This video is a selection of events and images from previous years. As you can see the range of events hosted by SCA, opportunities offered and extra curricular activities is broad and varied across the whole year. This offer encourages the development of the whole child and encompasses the vision of the school for students to be the best version of themselves - inside and outside of the classroom.

Inclusion at SCA - SEND
We have an outstanding SEND department based in the ARC. Students identified as having SEND needs will work with us to produce a Pupil Passport which is personal to them and acts as way of sharing with staff their strengths and their barriers to learning.
The ARC hosts a number of interventions including literacy, numeracy, ARROW and our excellent Nurture Group. Some students may have timetabled lessons in the ARC as a way of supporting them in identified areas.
We also have an excellent range of TA's including specialist TA's in English, Maths and Science who provide in class support. The SEND team will build support around the needs of the individual and be pro-active about gaining external support where it may be needed.
As well as the ARC, we have Pathways which offers a base and support for those students who access Pupil Premium support and mentoring.
Please visit our main school website SEND section here for more information
Approach to Learning Scores
The Approach to Learning (ATL) scores (below) are for each subject and this ranges from 2 through to -2, with 0 being the ‘Expected’ attitude and approach to subjects and studies, 2 being ‘Outstanding’ and -2 ‘Unacceptable’. The score incorporates behaviour along with involvement, attitude, effort, organisation and being ready and willing to learn.

Expectations at SCA
At SCA we have very clear, consistent expectations for the students on their behaviour every lesson and their attitude. We believe in high expectations for learning, behaviour and respect and students know that disruption to learning will not be tolerated and appropriate sanctions will be applied consistently and rigorously by all staff.

Where students fail to meet the expectations there is an effective management system of stages that are inevitable and understood by everyone at the school. We always promote routines and positive attitudes and approaches, but also consequences when students make mistakes.

Just as within lessons, there are clear expectations of student conduct in and around the school site in order for all students and staff to remain calm, safe and happy.

Again a simple flow diagram outlines the consistent responses when students fail to meet these expectations using the C1 to C4 codes.
