Doug Scott
Doug Scott was selected for the 1978 Len Fase Award. Doug was All Conference Defense as part of the varsity football team in 1977. In baseball, Doug was All Conference and All State Honorable Mention, with his teams winning Conference, District, Regional and Runner Up in the 1978 State Championship title game. Doug continued his baseball career first at Grand Rapids Junior College as a two-time MCCAA All State selection. At Central Michigan University Doug was part of the MAC Conference Championship team in 1981. Doug was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980.
Kristin Carlson Woiteshek
Kristin Carlson Woiteshek played basketball and volleyball throughout high school, being a varsity member of both teams for three years. Kristin’s volleyball and basketball teams were District and Conference Champions. Kristin was All Conference, All Area and All Region - 1st Teams, and Special mention All State. In 1991, she held the Single Game Scoring Record of 36 points in basketball. Kristin was Athlete of the Week multiple times in both sports. Kristin played varsity basketball at Hope for four years and was 3 times all MIAA, MIAA MVP, and All American. She was selected for Hope’s John Schouten Most Outstanding Female Athlete Award.
Kent Wiersma
Kent Wiersma was a standout 4 year basketball player and letter winner recognized as All Conference, All Area, and his senior year as All State 1st team, averaging 27 points per game. Kent continued his success in basketball at Grand Valley State University as a four year letter winner. At GVSU, Kent was Team MVP, GLIAC Player of the Week on multiple occasions, and holds many of the records for 3 point field goals - most in a game, most consecutive in a game, and highest percentage for those who scored over 100 3 point field goals. Kent continued his involvement in basketball at Mona Shores as a basketball coach and Youth Basketball Coordinator.
Adam Bolthouse
Adam Bolthouse, a two year varsity basketball starter and co-captain, is the Spring Lake Varsity Baseball Career Record Holder with 29 wins, 302 strikeouts, and has a 1.66 ERA for his high school career. In baseball, Adam was All Conference, All Area First Team, and as captain his senior year was All State Second Team. Adam led SL to the 1995 State Championship game. Adam was drafted by the Kansas City Royals, was a four year starting pitcher at Central Michigan University, being named a National Collegiate Top 25 - ERA. In 2000, Adam was invited to the NY Yankees training camp.
