I am a graduate of University of Phoenix in human services management and Lamar University, master's in counseling. I am a License Professional Counselor (LPC). I have a strong background as a special education and reading teacher. I believe strong communication with parents is very necessary to the building of strong confident scholars. My passion is pouring into scholars, watching confident, kind, respectful and caring people evolve. This is my fifth year at Major Elementary as the Lead School Counselor, I am proud to be part of the counseling team of Spring ISD. I come with many accolades which include HAASBE Teacher of the year, Outstanding Family Engagement Liaison of the year and ADL's Walter Kase Educator Excellence Award. Over the past few years, I have traveled to Europe many times, China, Belize, Japan and this upcoming school year to Ghana with scholars of 11-14 years of age. I love teaching scholars' multicultural education through travel, It builds diversity and understanding of all people. My husband and I are proud parents of four beautiful adults who are graduates of Spring ISD schools. I look forward building relationships with scholars, teachers, staff and stakeholders at Helen Major Elementary.
