The elementary guidance program focuses on academic success, personal/social growth (including personal safety), and career and college information. Elementary school counselors have a very important role in helping children develop lifelong interpersonal skills which include social, coping, and problem-solving skills. Students can see the Elementary Counselor via a self-referral, parental request, and/or teacher or administrative referral. Individual school counseling sessions may be frequent or simply as needed. Referrals are provided for long-term, therapeutic services.
