About The Blue Legion Band 

The Andy Dekaney High School Blue Legion Band is a 6A program from Houston, Texas. After being established in 2007, the program has gone on to be consistent UIL Sweepstakes award winners, UIL Area marching band participants, had numerous students place into the TMEA District, Region, Area, and All-State bands, and has become a place held dear to many students in the Spring ISD community. The band has been an outstanding performing group at the Texas UIL State Wind Ensemble contest, performed at the Texas Bandmasters Association convention, and has been a featured performer and demonstration group at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. Most recently, the Dekaney Wind Ensemble was an invited performer at the 2023 Music For All National Festival. The program offers a variety of musical curriculum including Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Beginning Band, Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, Chamber Music, Jazz Band, and AP Music Theory. Former students of the renowned band program have experienced success in many facets of society including, music, medicine, and education.
