ERICK DUEÑAS - DIRECTOR OF BANDS

Erick Duenas is in his x year of teaching and beginning his first year as the Director of Bands at Andy Dekaney High School. Mr. Duenas is a passionate music educator and accomplished trumpet player who earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Houston. While there, he stood out as the lead trumpet player in the Jazz Orchestra. His professional career has taken him to stages alongside an exciting range of Latin music artists, like Elvis Crespo, Tony Vega, Maelo Ruiz, Job González, Miel SAN Marcos, and many more giving him a rich and diverse musical background to share with his students.
Outside of music, Erick enjoys playing sports and spending time outdoors, staying active and engaged in a variety of recreational activities. He, along with his wife Damaris and their three children—Sebastian, Ellie, and Calais—is excited to be part of the Dekaney community and looks forward to serving and inspiring its students.
Xavier Robinson - ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF BANDS

Mr. Robinson is the Associate Director of Bands at Andy Dekaney High School. He has been a part of Spring ISD since kindergarten and is a proud Dekaney alumnus. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Sam Houston State University.
Mr. Robinson is a saxophone player and has performed at several major music conventions, including TMEA, TBA, and the Midwest Clinic. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, exploring local coffee shops and learning other instruments.
Mr. Robinson began his teaching career at Dueitt Middle School and is grateful to now be teaching at his alma mater, doing what he loves—sharing his passion for music with the next generation of Wildcats.
DALTON ROGERS - ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF BANDS

Dalton Rogers is a dedicated music educator, low-brass specialist, and passionate advocate for student growth through performance excellence. A Houston native, Dalton began his musical journey on Bass Trombone before expanding his expertise to Tuba—an instrument that quickly became a defining part of his musical identity.
Dalton earned his degree in music from the University of Houston, where he studied under distinguished faculty and performed with a wide range of ensembles, including concert and athletic bands. During his time at UH, he developed a strong foundation in pedagogy, ensemble leadership, and musicianship—skills that continue to guide his work in the classroom and on the podium.
Beyond the university setting, Dalton furthered his performance experience in the world of drum corps, marching with Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps. His time with Pacific Crest strengthened his commitment to discipline, teamwork, and high-level performance—values he now strives to instill in every student he teaches.
