Hello Gators! My name is Kristy Contreras, and I’m excited to be your Library Media Specialist. I have been in education for the past 13 years, all at Anderson! I received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Houston . I’m the proud parent of my 7 year-old daughter who attends Anderson as a first grader!

I’m thrilled to your new Media Specialist this year. I look forward to sharing fun book talks, engaging in cooperative learning, and teaching critical thinking skills through research. We’ll also focus on higher-level creativity by participating in learning stations dedicated to books and student projects.

In my spare time I love to write, shop , read (always), take fun vacations with family, and practice softball with my little girl!

This is going to be a great year! I can’t wait to share all of the wonderful ways the library can make learning meaningful and fun for my Anderson families.
