Springfield Public Schools is holding a bond referendum on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Voter approval would provide funding for critical infrastructure improvements to make our schools safer and more comfortable.
Voting is simple: residents who are registered in Springfield can vote in person or by mail.

Regardless of how you cast your ballot, an up-to-date voter registration is required to vote. Voters must be registered by Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, to be eligible to vote.

If you are not registered, register online by completing a voter registration form on the NJ Voter Information Portal.
Printed registration forms are also accepted. Print and mail a paper registration form, offered in English and Spanish to the Union County Commissioner of Registration, 271 N. Broad St. Floor 2, Elizabeth, NJ 07208-9867.

how can i vote by mail?
Check your Vote by Mail status by contacting the Office of the Union County Clerk at 908-527-4996 or email ucvote@ucnj.org. Any New Jerseyans who previously voted by mail in a prior election may have opted to automatically receive a Vote by Mail ballot for future elections, but double checking with the County Clerk is highly recommended.
Sign up using the Vote by Mail Ballot Application offered in English or Spanish. Print and mail (or hand deliver) the completed application to the County Clerk’s office, 300 North Avenue East in Westfield. To receive a ballot in the mail, your application must arrive at the County Clerk’s office no later than Tuesday, March 7.
Mail your ballot before the day of the vote! All mailed ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, March 14, 2023. You can also hand deliver your mail-in ballot by dropping it off before voting day. Find a drop box near you by visiting this website. A Vote-by-Mail ballot drop box is available at the Chisholm Community Center, 100 South Springfield Avenue in Springfield.
Track your ballot using the state’s voter portal. Setting up an account is free, and while this is an optional step, it is the only way to reliably monitor the status of your ballot online.
Opt-out of Vote by Mail: If you previously opted to automatically receive a Vote by Mail ballot in a previous election and wish to vote in-person, please complete the following form. Mail the form to 2 Broad Street, Room 113 Elizabeth, NJ 07207.
