proposed Projects

We take pride in maintaining our five school buildings, and like any space used daily, we need to invest in the nuts and bolts that keep things running smoothly. That’s why our district did a thorough review of all infrastructure and found the most pressing needs to be:

what's included in each question?

Question 1: TAX NEUTRAL

HEATING AND VENTILATION, SAFETY AND SECURITY

All five schools would receive security upgrades, including new cameras that capture better quality footage, are motion activated, and connect to a cloud-based video system that police and school staff can access during emergencies, and new exterior doors with ballistic glazing for added protection.

Other updates would include:

Jonathan Dayton High School

Florence M. Gaudineer Middle School

James Caldwell Elementary School

Thelma L. Sandmeier Elementary School

Edward V. Walton Early Childhood Center

All five schools would also be put on a building management system that provides overarching control of the HVAC system across school buildings. This would allow maintenance staff to monitor and check on equipment more frequently from a phone or tablet and troubleshoot problems remotely without having to respond to a specific classroom or building. Maintenance staff can also control temperatures based on whether a space is occupied or unoccupied, which would significantly reduce the district’s energy bills.

Question 2: SLIGHT TAX INCREASE

AIR CONDITIONING, REFRESHED SPACES
