JDHS Band

About JDHS Band

Any high school student who plays (or wishes to play) a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument is welcome to join the JDHS Band. Our program consists of three primary categories: Marching Band, Concert Band and Jazz Lab.

Concert Band meets Mondays and Wednesdays during Activity Period. This ensemble focuses primarily on wind ensemble music, though we play a variety of genres including marches, pop and showtune selections as well as traditional 'contest' works.

Jazz Lab meets on Thursdays after school beginning in November. This ensemble focuses on learning to play Jazz Standards, to perform as an ensemble with a heavy focus on Jazz Theory and improvisation.
