WATER-POLO TOURNAMENTS - U19 AND U16
Last weekend the U19A Water-polo players participated in the St Peters tournament in Johannesburg and our U16A girls participated in a tournament in Knysna. The u19A side played incredibly well, improving by five positions since the previous year and winning the Fair Play trophy as well as coming 3rd in the Shield division. The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves on tour and made huge strides in their water polo abilities. This is an incredible achievement. U16A also proceeded to have a very successful tournament winning five out of the seven games played. Congratulations to all the girls on some remarkable results and two great tournaments.
IST TENNIS TOURNAMENT - PRETORIA
Our top 7 players travelled to Pretoria to play at the Independent Schools Tennis Tournament. We came up against some tough opposition and the girls played their hearts out. Although winning several games in each fixture, we lost against DSG Grahamstown, Roedean and Epworth. On the final day we beat Kingswood College convincingly, with every player performing well. The support at the side of the court was outstanding and the team certainly returned a better team than when they left. Well done to all the girls, you made Springfield proud.
TENNIS
Another amazing week of tennis. The 3rd and 5th team brought home some wins and the 4th just lost their games. We are coming towards the end of the tennis season and these girls are acknowledged for their hard work and dedication towards the tennis year of 2020. Well done to everyone who played this week!
INDOOR HOCKEY
Last week commenced our 6th week of indoor hockey fixtures versus Herschel. Matches against Herschel can always be stressful but the girls all did their best and showed great sportsmanship throughout! Although the results may not have gone our way we are still really proud of everyone and their ability to push through and have fun in the process.
